Financial Aid
Saskatchewan Student Financial Assistance
Within the Department of Advanced Education, Employment and Labour, the Saskatchewan Student Financial Assistance Branch administers programs aimed at helping eligible Saskatchewan residents with the cost of their post-secondary education. Whether planning to attend a college, university, university-college, public institute or private training school, students have access to loans, grants, bursaries and scholarships.
Saskatchewan's student financial programs are mostly need-based, providing assistance when students and their immediate families do not have the resources to meet the costs of full-time education and basic living expenses. However, assistance based on academic merit or designed for special student groups is also available.
The Saskatchewan Student Financial Assistance Branch administers programs on behalf of the Government of Saskatchewan and of Canada, including Canada Student Loans, Canada Study Grants, Canada Access Grants and awards from the Millennium Scholarship Foundation.
